WHAT'S NEW

The end of a new beginning

This year’s Hong Kong Optical Exhibition have marked the end of a new beginning.

“The three-day fair ran from 7-9 Nov and attracted more than 16,800 buyers from 111 countries and regions, an increase of 4% in buyer attendance on the previous year.” (HKTDC, 2019)

Highlight of the show includes the use of 3D printing techniques and the flexibility of nylon to create a foldable arm as well as facial recognition technology that enables consumers to try on a selection of optical frames virtually.

Featuring the theme “Futuristic Getaway”, this year we have showcased over 100 styles of fashion and sports eyewear featuring four major trends for SS19.

Futuristic & metallic textures creating the shine delicately crystallised, clearly plastic or wet look.

Using semi-transparent colours and lightness mixing metal with injection materials to create the impeccable dynamic is one of the eyewear trend for SS19.

The midnight dream is one of our most popular collection this year at the show as it features monochrome and patterned design of dark hues.

These colour tones are the extension of AW18 trend and has been the all-time favourite and most of all classic without seasonality.

One of the eye catching collections is the “90’s girl” designs featuring vibrant colours with light pastel undertones, brighten up with exciting lens tint and variations in frame shape.

In 2019 we expect to see more colour lens used across all brands from low to high end as sunglasses are no longer protective for the eyes, but also a fashion statement.

Here a recap to the show:
